Is it virtually impossible to get a job in the UK now?

just been made redundant and went to have my interview at rochdale job centre. What a joke there are only 12 full time jobs in the whole of rochdale, i can see why you are losing you patience, never mind just do the best you can and carry on something may turn up .... good luck thats all i can say x
